DEAD MAN’S HAND is a Norwegian thrash metal act, hailing from Oslo. The band has been around and active since early 2005.
The best way to describe the band’s style of music would be to call it a blend of modern uptempo thrash metal and old-school down- and midtempo death metal in the north american tradition. Fast 2/4 beats and heavy 6/8 go head to head with pounding mosh-parts and melodic passages. The band’s ambition is to make music that is “in your face” with a twist.

The line-up of DEAD MAN’S HAND is a classic one, consisting of twin guitars, bass guitar, drums and vocals. The music is usually built around guitar-riffs, but the element of rhythm is also very important. This is brought into the music both through the aggressive yet creative drumming, and the lead vocals’ rendevous with the backing-vocals. The guitar parts move from traditional heavy riffing to melodic leads and twin guitar arrangements influenced by classical music.

The lyrics of DEAD MAN’S HAND are meant to mirror the feeling of the music. It is the band’s philosophy that aggressive music needs aggressive lyrics. The lyrics aren’t the typical death metal slasher type, but rather short tales of human despair, bitterness, complexity and potential violent dispositions. Allthough the lyrics are important to the band, they are mainly meant to highlight the feeling of the songs. The main thing for the band is to make songs that are as much of a whole as possible, and this is obtained through writing lyrics that are consistent with how each song feels.

Ferocious live act and experienced live musicians.
